Hi Everyone!
Boy, it feels like I haven't been around for a long while. It's just that I've been so totally consumed by my latest project...4 1/2 days it took me to finish...4 1/2 DAYS! All my focus and time has been spent on this project lately.
I've made a few of these in the past and the largest one I've made only took me about a day and a half. "I just don't understand why these took me soooo long", said the perfectionist :-) But they are done and I can finally move on to other things...Like catching up with my house chores...Hee, hee, hee.
Anyway, a few weeks back I found these two chairs at my local thrift store...And they were only $45....FOR BOTH! Score!
I love wingback chairs, but not loving the color...So you know I was thinking slipcovers when I got them. Ready for the "AFTER"?
FOUR AND A HALF DAYS!!!! But they are done!
Now I'm thinking...New throw pillows for my new chairs...
Now I'm thinking...New throw pillows for my new chairs...
Yes! But I'll have to get to them after I catch up with my house work :-)
So what do you think? Worth the time, effort, sweat, tears, etc? :-)
Wishing you all a beautiful Spring day.

YAY!!! I'm so proud of you, dearest Ana. You have done a beautiful job of them, and I should know, eh? They look so lovely in your room, yes, definitely worth the blood, sweat and tears. And if you are like me, there will be a tiny trace of blood on them when you're done. Yes, I left some on the back piece of the last one I made.
Beautiful project, finished!!!
Love and hugs, Cindy
Fantastic job Ana!. They look beautiful and I admire you for taking this on. I've yet to make an attempt cause I am a chicken. Take care.

I have some blue chairs very similar to those, but mine recline so I don't believe you can cover them--I would never make the attempt!! Yours look charming!! and I love your wall of crosses too!
Wow! I am sooo impressed Ana! I can't believe you did both of these chairs so fast... You must be Houdini!! They turned out really great, and yes I would DEFINITELY say totally worth it! Love the pleated ruffle too!

Ana they are beautiful and you did such a professional looking job. I love the details on them too. I've got my sewing machine out now too working on a project that will take me many more days to complete so I know what you mean about "is it worth the tears and effort?"
xo,
Danielle
great job ana! i love slipcovered chairs and so admire people who can sew them:) have a great week!
Good Morning Ana,
YES, your slipcovers look wonderful. The one I am working on is still only half way finished!
That drop cloth material just doesn't look "right" in my house, for some reason. I am actually thinking of trying a myriad of materials instead of just the plain dropcloth. I am sure when the "right" material comes along that I will be REinspried.
I found this an easy project but REALLY time consuming. When you use the chair as the pattern and have to keep putting the cover on and taking it off to make it fit. (Miss Mustard Seeds video) Is that the method you are using or did you find a pattern?
Anyway, yours look marvelous!!
Thanks for sharing!
Wow, these look amazing and sooooo comfy looking. I just want to grab a book and curl up in one of them. I love the soft style they now have, very inviting. You did great.
Oh, Ana! I'm so impressed! What a wonderful job you did on the slip covers. Those are nice chairs too! Wow, this would have taken me a year! ;)

Just found your blog and we have this chair in common. I too made a slipcover for a wing-back chair. It took me a full nonstop eight hour day. I love my chair but I will never do it again . . . I say now?
